Retül Certified Bike Fitter       USA Cycling Certified Coach

Steve is the Fit Manager and Lead Cycling Coach of CycleweRx of Rochester.  Throughout the last 25 years, Steve has worked in many capacities in the cycling and fitness industry not only in Rochester, but also in the midwestern region of the United States, as well as, in Asia.

In September of 2013, Steve attended Retül University, the leader in cycling-specific 3D motion capture bike fitting. There he earned his certification as a Retül Certified Bike Fitter and completed the Triathlon and Time Trail Specific Bike Fit Certification.   This certification is a one week hands on class that ensures understanding and techniques of high quality professional bike fitting and expert analysis. The instructors at Retül are the go-to fitters for several top Pro-Tour teams including Team Sky, Europcar, and top level triathletes. 

In April 2012, Steve returned to his hometown of Rochester and worked as a Bike Fit Manager at a well established local bike shop. Since his return to Rochester, Steve has gained quite the following from local cyclists.  

Steve was the Trek Bicycle Store of Highland Park, Il.(Trek Concept Store) Manager from 2008 until March 2012. The 8000 square foot Trek Bicycle Store of Highland Park, Illinois often had some of the top sales numbers in all of the United States. While in Chicago, Steve was trained by and worked closely with Robbie Ventura, the founder of  Vision Quest Coaching, on bicycle fitting as well as cycling philosophy.  Steve has gained the expert knowledge to assure that each rider’s fit meets his or her individual needs.  

Steve grew up working in two of Rochester’s largest bicycle shops from 1988-1996. Then, he spent the next 10 years working for one of the largest fitness equipment manufacturers in the world, Johnson Health Tech.

It is also important to note that Steve has received training at the Trek Fitting School and Paul Swift’s Bikefit Certification.  Currently Steve is enrolled in the Kinesiology And Human Performance program at Finger Lakes Community College as he furthers his education base as a bike fitter and coach.  He is also a USA BMX Licensed Coach, Certified Level 3 USA Cycling Coach, as well as a Nationally and State Ranked BMX competitor.  Also, while Steve lived in Chicago, he trained an elite group of BMX racers as part of Vision Quest Coaching's BMX program.

A native of Palmyra, New York, Steve currently resides in Canandaigua with his wife, Dawn, a k-5 World Languages teacher and his three stepdaughters. Steve is enjoying being back in New York with his family.
